Bangladesh gained independence in 1971. Bangladesh did not become independent in one day; it gained independence as a result of long wait. There are many stages of Bangladesh’s independence as described, below.
Language movement in 1952
Since 1952, Bangladesh has been subjected to various forms of torture and oppression. But the Bengalis do not stop, they respond to every oppression. The first struggle of Bangladesh started with the language movement of 1952.Assassination of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman 1975 August15th When Urdu was declare the only state language of Bangladesh in 1952, the Bengalis joined the movement. Rafiq, Shafiq, Jabbar, Barkat, Salam and many others were martyred in the police firing in that movement.
1954 general electio
In the East Pakistan Assembly elections held from 6 to 12 March 1954, the United Front won 223 seats out of 238 Muslims (309 seats in total). The Awami Muslim League led by Maulana Bhasani won 140 of them, Sher-e-Bangla A. K. Fazlul Huq’s Krishak Sramik Party has 34, Nezami Islam Party has 12, Juba League has 15, Ganatantri Dal has 10, and Communist Party has 4 and later joined 8 independents. [1] [3] is; they were able to win only 9 seats.
The 6 point movement of 1966
The mass uprising of 1969 was widespread on the basis of the six points of 1966. Until the 70’s, the movement for autonomy was conducted on the basis of six points. The great war of liberation of 1971 started mainly centering on the six-point movement. Bangabandhu firmly believed that national liberation of Bengalis was not possible without the implementation of the six points. So this fearless hero was able to say without hesitation, ‘If I have to walk straight on the highway alone, I will walk. Because history will prove that this is the right path for the liberation of Bengalis.
1969 mass uprising
Coup didn’t have become a common occurrence in the states of the African continent. Between 1952 and 2000, there were 75 coups in 33 specific countries. West Africa has the highest number of such incidents at 42. 1970 general election
East Pakistan (Bangladesh wins by a landslide in 1970), but West Pakistan does not hand over power. Instead of handing over power, they started reckless torture on the Bengalis. This further increased the independence of the Bengalis.
Liberation War of 1971
The bloody war started in 1971. After 9 months of fighting, Bangladesh gained independence at the cost of 3 million lives.But even after independence; there are still many unknown names in Bangladesh including Razakar, Al-Badr, Al-Shams. 1975 On 15 August 1975, Bangabandhu was brutally murdered along with his family.
